A Grain of Sand in a Desert

We think we are just grains of sand in a Desert.  This Desert is full of grains of sand stretching for miles and miles - in our mind.

We assume that we are one small grain of sand in a sea of billions of grains just like us.  On this planet Earth we believe we are just a spec, unimportant and expendable.

In this Story, if we decide to leave the Desert and walk away, will anyone notice?  That big old Desert will likely just shrug its shoulders and say “meh, who cares if one grain leaves when there are billions to take its place.”

This is what we believe.

We are wrong.

We’ve gotten the story all wrong and almost entirely backwards.

We may be a single grain of sand in a Desert Sea, but we are so singularly unique that if we leave we are missed.

Not just missed, we are mourned as if we are not just one grain of sand but as if we are the most important grain of sand in the desert.

In addition, the Desert doesn’t say “meh.” It turns and soulfully watches us go. The Desert leaves a hole where we were waiting for us to return.  This hole stands forever. We are missed forever.  No other grain can ever fill this hole and the Desert knows this.   All the other grains of sand know this too.

We are each unforgettable.

We are each precious.

We are each fully seen.

We are each fully welcomed Home in any moment.
